The European Schoolnet (Belgium)

The EUN partnership is a spin-off of the European Schoolnet (EUN) which exists to help develop learning opportunities for young people across Europe through communication and information exchange at all levels. Its activities are determined by the needs of the constituent members: 27 ministries of education, the European Commission, and ICT industry partners. The EUN is a leading organisation in the field of e-learning interoperability, building federated structures, and semantic interoperability.

European IMS Network (Netherlands)

European IMS is a non-profit foundation with participants from across Europe focused on promoting the adoption of open specifications for e-learning in Europe. European IMS collaborates with IMS Global and IMS Centres around the world in exchanging and informing best practice in the development, application, and adoption of open specifications for e-learning. European IMS works collaboratively with local, regional, and national organizations that are centers of excellence in standards and specification-based e-learning.

Bolton University (United kingdom)

E-Learning is key to Bolton's strategic vision, as demonstrated by its recent appointment of a professor of e-Learning and the hosting of the national JISC Centre for Educational Technology Interoperability Standards (CETIS). The CETIS has grown to a world-leading observatory in the field of e-learning Standards. It is especially this expertise that it will bring into the LIFE project. Bolton Institute is also well know for trail-blazing projects such as RELOAD and UNFOLD.

eStandards Project - University of Oslo (Norway)

The remit of The Norwegian eStandards project is interoperability within the field of learning technologies, which correlates perfectly with the EUN's LIFE initiative. The project is involved in awareness raising and coordination of activities at all levels of the Norwegian educational system.

University of Paris X (France)

The University's research unit SERIES focuses on study of information access techniques and practices using machines and digital networks for knowledge construction. SERIES pursues a line of investigation started with the research laboratory on knowledge industry at CNED (National Centre For Distance Education). Shouldered by the research center in specialized information, its specific approach relies on an investigation methodology which combines study of technical practices treated from a global point of view, cognitive processes and practical knowledge of machines and systems.










CEDEFOP (Greece)

CEDEFOP aims to assist the Commission in encouraging, at Community level, the promotion and development of vocational training and of in-service training. CEDEFOP is the European Union's reference centre for vocational education and training. It provides information on and analyses of systems, policies, research and practice.
