Educnet publishes ICT in school videos
Educnet, the education portal of the French Ministry of Education, has released 17 videos, available for direct streaming, showcasing how ICT can be effectively used in classroom environments. The videos (in French), available at http://www.educnet.education.fr/tv are a useful tool for practitioners as well as policy makers to see the benefits and identify the challenges of ICT in schooling.
The broadcast requires the latest version of flash to play and comes together with further explanations and commentaries from teachers and pupils as they use the ICT tools presented. The videos include ‘Creating a web page’; use of a Learning Object in maths as well as French language lessons.
The exercises are in connection with B2i certification (Brevet Informatique et Internet-ICT and Internet Certification) of the French education system. The B2i certification assesses since November 2000, the ICT skills expected from pupils. The test takes place at the end of primary school (level 1) and at the end of lower secondary school (level 2).
